General meeting

  5. . Correspondence – Out – Letter to Western Power thanking for underground power
    Letter to Town Of Bassendean to thank for Iron Filter at Gary Blanch
    Letters requesting support submission for Traffic lights at Colstoun Road.
    IGA, Ashfield Chemist, Istanbul Kitchen, Ashfield Sports Club.Correspondence in -Email Graeme Haggart.
  6. Reports – President’s Report – no report
    1. Treasures Report – See report. We still need to find an auditor for the AshfieldCAN
    2. Neighbourhood Watch – Verna supplied information regarding NHW grants and
      asked if anyone had any ideas for a project we could apply for this funding for.
  7. Business arisingASHFIELD FOREST. The discussion about the ‘Ashfield Forest’ concept continued and there is a lot
    of interest but no decisions as to how to move forward were made. To be put on the agenda for
    the next meeting.

    BUS SHELTERS. Lucy found a project in Fremantle where the community had painted bus shelters.
    Maybe we could do something similar and build a link with Cyril Jackson Campus but would need
    to find funding. There are 5 bus shelters in Ashfield. Bus shelters are Council property so who do
    we have to approach to paint them? Lucy to investigate.

  8. Gary Blanch Reserve – Family Day Event. Bouncy Castle has been booked. People requested to
    bring cake or biscuits. Everlastings will be planted. Emma organising junior arts and crafts.
    Helpers required. We need to have $350 cash to pay Bouncy Castle Man.BIN AT INTERSECTION OF COLSTOUN AND GUILDFORD ROAD. Thanks to requests to Council to
    shift the bin disrupting the view onto Guildford Road it has now been http://ashfield.oolybooly.info/wp-admin/post-new.phprelocated helping to make
    the view at that intersection a little clearer.
  9. Gary Blanch Reserve Working Group. Emma has decide to call another working group meeting
    to develop a more formulated plan before going to seek Council feedback. This will be organised
    shortly.
  10. Colstoun Road/ Guildford traffic Light Proposal Two meetings have been held at Dave Kelly’s
    office regarding trying to progress this application for traffic lights at this intersection. This has
    involved discussions with the Town of Bassendean to ensure their support for the proposal.
    Letters requesting letters of support for this application have gone out to local businesses and a
  11. . Newsletter Dave Love is putting together the next newsletter which will hopefully be out in the
    next couple of weeks. Lucy and others to provide Dave with copy and images by Friday
  12. General business
    Zion Western enquired about the IGA rewards for AshfieldCAN. Lucy to find out details.
    Dave Love questioned why the river bank had been fenced off between Roy Hookway Platform
    and the Hardy Road drain. What is happening at this location?
    Emma Slavin suggested the purchase of some portable boards that would be useful at events.
    Cost between $500 and $1000. The decision is to put over till next meeting.
